Minutes of the 2007 NEICAAA
Convention
College of the Holy Cross, Sept. 12, 2007
Irwin Cohen called the convention to order at 12:37 PM. Schools represented were: Amherst, Boston College, Boston University, Bryant College, Connecticut College, Connecticut University, Dartmouth, Hartford, Holy Cross, Keene State, UMass/Amherst, UMass/Lowell, MIT, New Hampshire, Quinnipiac, Rhode Island University, Smith, Southern Maine, Springfield, Stonehill, Tufts, U.S.Coast Guard Academy, Vermont, Wesleyan, Wheaton, and Williams. Two other colleges were present.
Jon Litchfield reported that he would again handle the top 25 poll and requested better input from the coaches. He will have an internet system in place. At the coaches meeting, Steve Vaitones reported on Franklin Park Cross Country procedures.
The previously circulated minutes of the 2006 convention, was adopted. The slate of officers as approved by the Executive Committee; Jack McDonald, President; Patricia Nicole, Vice-President; 2 nd Vice-President, Branwen Smith-King; Executive Committee John McCutcheon, Nancy Lyons, Kristen Morwick and John Copeland was elected.
The following By-law changes were approved unanimously in the outdoor championship:
- 800 and 1500M races would be run in seeded consecutive sections. (editorial change, fastest section last)
- The block schedule for women and men was eliminated on Friday with men's and women's events run consecutively.
- Cross Country Championship time was adjusted to allow 45 minutes between each race, to take effect with the 2007 Championships: women, sub-varsity, noon; women, varsity, 12:45; men, varsity, 1:30, men, sub-varsity, 2:15.
- The 2008 Cross-Country Championships were approved for October 11 with one dissenting vote.

2008 Indoor championship at BU, February 29, March 1
2008 Outdoor championship at New Hampshire, May 9-10
2008 Cross country championship at Franklin Park, Oct. 11
2009 Indoor championship at BU, Feb. 27-28
2009 Outdoor championship at UMass, May 8-9, tentative, subject to other bids
